A contract opportunity is available for a dedicated School Psychologist to support a large, diverse school district in Newark, DE. This role offers the chance to work across multiple educational settings, including preschool, elementary, middle, high school, and a specialized school serving students aged 3 to 22 with a range of exceptional needs. The position is full-time (37.5 hours per week) and runs from ASAP through June 10th, including paid professional development days.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct comprehensive psychological assessments and provide testing support, particularly at the elementary level where the assignment may be testing-intensive.
- Collaborate with school teams to develop and support individualized education plans (IEPs) within a continuum of special education services.
- Engage with a multidisciplinary team including four high school psychologists, 1-1.5 elementary school psychologists, and special education coordinators.
- Serve typically at one primary school site, with occasional time split between elementary locations.
- Support compliance and documentation within the districts established procedures; onboarding is managed internally.
Qualifications & Experience
- Current school psychologist certification or eligibility to transfer licensure to Delaware; license pending candidates are encouraged to apply as HR will assist with transfer processes.
- Experience working within a large district or similar educational environments with a broad range of student needs, including special education.
- Ability to handle a dynamic workload, adapt across different school levels, and work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team.
