Job Summary
We are seeking a high-caliber Software Verification Engineer I to join the Software Verification team. The role involves requirements analysis, test design, test execution, and defect resolution in a fast-paced, innovative environment. The engineer will work independently and collaboratively to plan, write, and execute test cases in accordance with Abbott practices, FDA regulatory requirements, and ISO standards. Responsibilities include designing new test suites, performing dry runs and formal verification activities, setting up and configuring test equipment, recording and closing defects, and participating in requirements, design, and test reviews.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or Biomedical Engineering
- Knowledge of software testing
- Knowledge of software development lifecycle management tools
- Organized, detail-oriented, quick learner, and on-time with deliverables
- Excellent documentation skills that support management decision-making
- Strong quantitative, analytical, organizational, and follow-up skills
- Polished communicator with strong written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to build relationships across various levels of an organization
- Proactive, self-starter attitude with high integrity and teamwork skills
Preferred Qualifications
- Python experience
- Medical device testing experience
- Academic project experience related to software, systems, or verification
- Prior industry experience (not required)
