A full-time elementary special education resource teacher position is available in Chicago, IL, to provide support for students for the remainder of the school year. This contract role involves working primarily with a small caseload of fewer than 10 students, mostly in 2nd and 3rd grades, with one kindergarten student included.
Responsibilities
- Deliver specialized instruction tailored to individual student needs in an elementary school setting.
- Support students classified under special education by implementing individualized education plans (IEPs).
- Collaborate with general education teachers and school staff to create an inclusive learning environment.
- Track student progress and adjust instructional strategies accordingly.
- Communicate regularly with parents and guardians regarding student development and goals.
Qualifications
- Valid Special Education teaching certification.
- Experience working with elementary school-aged children, particularly in 2nd and 3rd grades.
- Knowledge of special education practices, resources, and compliance requirements.
