Overview
As Traveler Automation Pharmacy Technician 4, you will travel to customer sites to operate, support, and optimize Omnicell’s advanced pharmacy automation technologies. You’ll play a critical role in go-lives, training, and ongoing customer success while supporting the Autonomous Pharmacy.
This role is ideal for experienced inpatient or CPhT pharmacy technicians who enjoy travel, technology, and making a real impact on patient care.
What You’ll Do
- Travel to hospital customer sites to operate, support, and optimize Omnicell automation technologies, including i.v.STATION, IVX Station & Workflow, XR2, PakPlus, and Automated Dispensing Cabinets.
- Support system implementations and go‑lives, including medication assignment, inventory loading/unloading, and staging activities.
- Perform daily equipment operation, inspection, cleaning, maintenance, and basic troubleshooting following SOPs and best practices.
- Manage medication assignments remotely or onsite using Omnicell tools to ensure accurate setup and optimal inventory levels.
- Deliver hands‑on customer support and training to drive adoption, confidence, and long‑term success.
- Collaborate closely with Professional Services and project teams to ensure smooth implementations and positive customer outcomes.
- Act as a subject matter expert (SME) for Omnicell automation, supporting both customers and internal team members onsite or remotely.
- Maintain compliance with pharmacy regulations, credentialing requirements, customer policies, and Omnicell travel and expense guidelines.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED
- Active National Pharmacy Technician Certification (PTCB or NHA – CPhT/ExCPT)
- Active State Board of Pharmacy Technician License/Registration for state of residence (TN) or (OH) or (GA)
- 1+ year inpatient pharmacy experience (preferred)
- Valid driver’s license and REAL ID and/or U.S. passport
- COVID‑19 vaccination
- Ability to travel 100%
Preferred Qualifications
- Completion of an accredited Pharmacy Technician training program
- 2+ years hospital pharmacy automation experience
- 1+ year IV compounding experience
- Automation implementation and basic troubleshooting experience
- Previous travel‑based role experience

- Able to meet extensive domestic travel (100%); weekend and holiday travel may be required
- Weekend stays may be needed based on project needs
- Able to fly out of within 30-45 min from airport(s) in Memphis, Cincinnati, or Atlanta
- Hospital pharmacy environment
- Potential exposure to hazardous drugs
- Extended standing, lifting up to 50 lbs, and variable work hours
