Job Summary
The HR Generalist supports the HR function by delivering essential HR services, ensuring compliance, and contributing to a positive employee experience within BD. This role involves a variety of administrative and operational tasks crucial to the efficient management of human capital.
Job Responsibilities
- Administer HR programs, policies, and procedures, including onboarding, offboarding, employee records management, and benefits administration support.
- Serve as a primary point of contact for employee inquiries regarding HR policies, processes, and basic employment matters, escalating complex issues to appropriate HR partners.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date HR information systems (HRIS) and employee records, ensuring data integrity and confidentiality.
- Assist in the preparation and processing of HR-related documentation, such as offer letters, employment verifications, and status changes.
- Support recruitment activities, including posting job openings, scheduling interviews, and assisting with pre-employment checks.
- Collaborate with HR Business Partners and other HR team members on various HR initiatives and projects.
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and company policies.
- Generate HR reports and analytics as needed to support HR decision-making.
- Participate in the continuous improvement of HR processes and systems to enhance efficiency and employee satisfaction.
Job Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field is required.
- 2+ years of experience in a Human Resources support role is required.
- Human Resources experience within a large, global organization is preferred.
- Proficiency with HR Information Systems (HRIS), with experience in Workday or similar platforms a strong plus.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to interact effectively with employees at all levels.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail, with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Demonstrated ability to handle confidential information with discretion and integrity.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
- Knowledge of basic employment laws and HR best practices.
- Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team environment.
