This contract role is based in Long Beach, CA, serving a facility with 117 licensed beds and an average daily census of 44 patients. The position begins with full-time hours for about one month, transitioning to a flexible part-time schedule thereafter.
Key Responsibilities Include
- Managing IV compounding with precision and adherence to safety standards
- Filling and maintaining Pyxis medication automation units
- Assisting with medication order entry using Paragon/Allscripts systems
- Collaborating with pharmacy and clinical staff to ensure accurate and timely medication distribution
- Adapting to rotating shifts to maintain consistent pharmacy operations
Desired Qualifications And Experience
- Current California pharmacy technician license, mandatory for this role
- Experience in IV compounding and familiarity with Pyxis automation
- Comfortable working varied shifts, including early mornings, afternoons, and weekend coverage
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to patient safety
Schedule Highlights
- Full-time (40 hours per week) for approximately 4 weeks, then transitioning to PRN as needed
- Rotating shifts including 7:30 AM4:00 PM and 12:00 PM8:30 PM on weekdays
- Weekend shifts from 8:00 AM4:30 PM
