Overview
We are seeking a seasoned Senior AI Leader to build, scale, and lead our AI Engineering and Data Science function. This role is both strategic and hands-on, responsible for shaping the AI vision, delivering high-impact AI solutions, and building high-performing teams.
The ideal candidate brings deep experience across data science, machine learning, and applied AI, with a strong track record of translating business problems into production-grade AI systems. You will own the AI delivery backlog end-to-end while partnering closely with product, engineering, and business leaders to drive measurable outcomes.
Key Responsibilities
Leadership & Team Building
- Build, mentor, and scale high-performing AI Engineering and Data Science teams
- Define team structure, hiring plans, career paths, and technical standards
- Foster a culture of ownership, experimentation, and engineering excellence
AI Strategy & Vision
- Contribute to and help define the organization’s AI and data strategy
- Identify opportunities where AI/ML can drive business impact and differentiation
- Stay current with advancements in AI, ML, and GenAI, and translate them into practical roadmaps
Delivery & Execution
- Own and deliver the AI backlog—from problem definition to production deployment
- Ensure AI solutions are scalable, reliable, explainable, and production-ready
- Balance short-term delivery with long-term platform and capability building
Hands-On Technical Contribution
- Provide architectural and technical guidance across ML pipelines, model lifecycle, and MLOps
- Review and guide model design, feature engineering, evaluation, and deployment strategies
- Troubleshoot complex AI/ML issues and unblock teams when needed
Stakeholder Collaboration
- Partner with Product, Engineering, and Business teams to align AI initiatives with priorities
- Communicate complex AI concepts clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholders
- Support executive decision-making with data-driven insights
Experience
Job Requirements
- 14+ years of overall professional experience, with 8+ years in Data Science, Machine Learning, or AI
- Proven experience building and scaling AI/ML teams in an enterprise or high-growth environment
- Strong background delivering AI solutions from experimentation to production
Technical Expertise
- Deep understanding of machine learning, statistical modeling, and applied AI
- Experience with modern ML stacks, cloud platforms, and MLOps practices
- Hands-on exposure to areas such as predictive modeling, NLP, computer vision, or GenAI
- Strong software engineering mindset with experience collaborating closely with engineering teams
Leadership & Execution
- Demonstrated ability to lead through influence, not just authority
- Strong ownership mindset with a bias toward delivery and outcomes
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
Education
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or a related field
- Experience in academic research or a PhD is a strong plus, particularly in AI, ML, or related domains
