A healthcare role is available for an experienced Nuclear Medicine Technologist skilled in cardiac nuclear stress testing. This position involves working with advanced nuclear medicine equipment and performing diagnostic cardiac tests at a hospital outpatient department in Edison, NJ. The role offers a contract opportunity with an 8-hour shift schedule mainly on Monday, Tuesday, and Thursday, plus two Wednesdays per month as needed, including one Saturday per month.
Qualifications And Experience
- High School Diploma or equivalent required.
- Graduate of an approved School of Nuclear Medicine Technology.
- Valid NJDEP license required.
- Registered by ARRT or NMTCB.
- BLS certification by the American Heart Association.
- Proficient with nuclear medicine imaging, including use of Nuctrac, Epic, ISCV Philips reporting system, and Digirad camera.
- Ability to start IVs and perform radionuclide procedures.
Responsibilities
- Operate and calibrate nuclear medicine equipment safely according to state and federal guidelines.
- Prepare, administer, and assay radiopharmaceuticals and maintain accurate records of radioactive materials.
- Evaluate and ensure diagnostic quality of radio images using PACS workstations.
- Support the physician in therapeutic use of radioisotopes.
- Maintain sterile and contamination-free work environments.
- Utilize computer systems such as EPIC, Teletracking, and Nuclear Medicine Information System to schedule patients and process studies.
- Follow departmental policies including A.I.D.E.T. standards when interacting with patients.
- Adapt care based on patient population needs, including communication adjustments related to age, culture, or disabilities.
- Rotate assignments including Cardiology and PET/CT as needed.
Work Schedule
- 7:30 AM to 4:00 PM, Monday, Tuesday, Thursday.
- Two Wednesdays per month as needed.
- One Saturday per month.
- No holiday or on-call requirement.
