A bilingual Certified Spanish Teacher is sought for a specialized role providing homebound instruction to a K-12 student in Mission Viejo, CA. This contract position is designed to support a student with moderate to severe foundational programming needs who is on the autism spectrum and requires in-person, one-on-one teaching. The students family communicates exclusively in Spanish, making bilingual skills essential.
Location: Homebound instruction in Mission Viejo, CA
Hours: 1 hour per week with potential for increased hours
Term: ASAP start through End of School Year (EOSY), with possible Extended School Year (ESY) and contract renewal
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver personalized, one-on-one instruction tailored to the students educational needs and goals
- Utilize bilingual skills to effectively communicate with the student and Spanish-speaking family members
- Adapt teaching methods to accommodate the students moderate to severe foundational programming level and ASD diagnosis
- Collaborate with school personnel and the students family to monitor progress and adjust instruction as needed
- Provide in-person instruction, as virtual platforms are not viable for this student
Qualifications And Desired Experience
- Valid teaching certification specializing in General Education and bilingual Spanish instruction
- Experience working with students on the autism spectrum and in foundational/moderate-severe programming settings
- Strong ability to communicate in Spanish, both oral and written, to engage meaningfully with non-English-speaking families
- Patience, adaptability, and commitment to individualized student growth through direct instruction
