JOB SUMMARY:
This position provides general administrative support with a variety of shipping activities and related tasks. The Pharmacy Support Specialist is responsible for shipping packages as well as additional clerical duties.
REQUIRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
- A high school diploma or general education degree (GED) equivalent is required.
- Completion of both pharmacy technician training and national certification to be completed within one year of employment.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Recognizes patients’ rights and responsibilities and supports them in the performance of job duties; respects patient’s rights to privacy and confidentiality.
- Ships packages.
- Prints UPS labels.
- Selects appropriate size box for shipment.
- Captures the weight of the shipment.
- Prints pickup summary at the end of each day.
- Assists staff with administrative support when requested.
- Shares knowledge gained with other staff members and works as a team member.
- Interacts with others in a positive, respectful, and considerate manner.
- Performs other job related duties as assigned.
- Provides cross coverage for the other patient support specialist during lunch break, scheduled PTO and as needed.

- Ability to make decisions, solve problems, and work independently with little supervision.
- Ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Ability to communicate effectively and professionally with customers and external contacts to the organization.
- Knowledge in the use of standard office equipment such as computers, scanners, telephones, fax machines, and headsets.
- Knowledge in the use of e-mail and Microsoft applications.
- Ability to quickly learn the use of software such as Complete Patient Records (CPR) program, UPS software, and phone line monitoring systems.
