Job Details
The Delivery Associate Lead is responsible for the accurate packing and distribution of medications, and record keeping related to patient information and company records. This position assists management with overseeing and monitoring the shipping team workflow and productivity as well as takes ownership of coordinating with shipping agencies or couriers.
Responsibilities
- Provides operational workflow oversight of other shipping associates and addresses issues that may impact the distribution of medications.
- Receives, stores and logs inventory and returns (upon Pharmacist approval), verifies quantities against invoices, and informs supervisors of stock needs or shortages. Remains aware of expiry dates and rotates stock to avoid dispensing out of date products.
- Acts as a liaison between our customers and their providers and our pharmacy or handles other requests to ensure that clients have a positive experience.
- Serves as a subject matter expert in all aspects of shipping and receiving of inventory and medications.
- Provides guidance on operational duties to other shipping associates.
- Responsible for training all shipping associates on policies and procedures.
- Supports staff development opportunities by monitoring work performance and offering real-time feedback. May assist leadership with performance management processes.
- Ensures accuracy of shipments by monitoring delivery systems for appropriate destination address and delivery time. Addresses delivery exceptions.
- Receives and stores incoming supplies, verifies quantities against invoices, and informs supervisors of stock needs or shortages.
- Performs Shipping Associates duties when necessary or as appropriate to deliver, or prepare and stage for delivery, pharmaceutical supplies and drugs.
- Uses coordinating expertise to ensure compliance, efficiency, and quality of operations.
- Participates in company quality initiatives, recognizing opportunities for improvements and reporting quality assurance issues.
- Secures information in accordance with the privacy and security guidelines of the Company and applicable regulations such as HIPAA.

Education
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Associate degree in business or related field preferred.
Experience
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in shipping or logistics field required.
- Experience working in a Pharmacy or healthcare environment is preferred.

- Proficient computer skills to navigate: proprietary and other pharmacy software; shipping, delivery, and order management platforms (i.e. FedEx, UPS, TForce, TOMS, etc.); as well as Microsoft Office Suite (i.e. Excel and SharePoint). Proficiencies include but are not limited to: Excel using quantitative analysis, charting, pivot tables, formulas/algorithms, and trend analysis.
- Ability to compile, code, categorize, calculate, and verify data and accurately count, measure and weigh Rx components.
- Strong mathematical and analytical skills.
Schedule: This is a full-time position with an expectation to work an average of 40 hours per week and be available outside of normal business hours to meet customer expectations on an ad-hoc basis. Schedules are set to accommodate the requirements of the position and the needs of the organization and may be adjusted as needed.
Travel: Travel may be required for special organization or department events, department team meetings, trade shows, conferences, and other client engagements.
