How This Role Impacts Live Oak And Its People
The
Senior Loan Operations Specialist role plays a critical role in maintaining the accuracy and integrity of post‑closing loan activities, from funding and boarding to servicing and payoff. This position serves as a trusted subject matter expert, owning complex operational tasks and ensuring they are executed accurately and in accordance with internal controls. This role works closely with teams across the bank to maintain smooth workflows and ensure timely resolution of escalated issues.
What You’ll Do At Live Oak
- Responsible for supporting loan activities after closing, including funding, system onboarding, account maintenance, modifications, draws and payoff processes.
- Manage core system data and operational processes for syndicated loans, participations and other specialized lending products, including loan advances, payment movement and fee collection.
- Perform general ledger and account reconciliations across multiple business lines to ensure financial accuracy and control.
- Onboard loans into the core processing system and design onboarding procedures to support the rollout of new loan products.
- Perform detailed post closing loan modification transactions in the core system, involving review of legal documents and accurate data entry.
- Support audits, regulatory examinations, and internal reviews by preparing documentation, providing clarification, and executing corrective actions where needed.
- Create and improve departmental procedures and process documentation.
- Assist with onboarding and training of new team members.
- Provide subject‑matter expertise to Loan Operations and internal partners regarding operational processes, system functionality, and SOX control requirements.
- Lead the resolution of complex escalations, applying advanced problem‑solving and coordination across departments.
- Represent the Loan Operations function professionally when collaborating with internal stakeholders and engaging in external communications or partner interactions.
- Support system enhancement initiatives and participate in modernization and workflow‑improvement efforts.
- Demonstrate strong verbal and written communication skills, producing clear, accurate correspondence and documentation.
- Leverage advanced analytical and problem-solving techniques to identify and resolve critical issues, uncover root causes and implement sustainable solutions.
- Maintain strong organizational habits to manage multiple high‑priority responsibilities in a fast‑paced environment.
- Demonstrate adaptability and openness to continuous improvement as systems, processes, and business needs evolve.
- Collaborate across teams—including Lending, Servicing, Secondary Markets, Technology, and Finance—to support seamless workflows and efficient operations.
- Uphold strong internal controls, risk awareness, and data‑integrity standards in all tasks.
- Communicate clearly and professionally to support strong working relationships across the bank.
- Maintain a high standard of regulatory awareness including BSA, AML, CIP, and OFAC.
Required Experience
- Strong proficiency in navigating core banking platforms, money‑movement systems, and operational workflows.
- Experience performing general ledger activities across multiple core system environments.
- Proven success in a fast‑paced, high‑volume operational environment.
- Strong time‑management, critical‑thinking, and problem‑solving skills with exceptional attention to detail.
- Highly organized with the ability to manage multiple priorities independently and collaboratively.
- Adaptable, motivated, and committed to continuous improvement and process optimization.
- Quick to learn new systems, applications, and automation tools.
- Ability to work overtime during peak periods such as month‑end or quarter‑end.
- Comfortable working within technology‑driven workflows and contributing to system enhancements.
- Demonstrated reliability, accountability, and sound judgment when handling sensitive customer and financial information.
- 3–5 years of banking or financial services experience with a strong operational foundation.
Preferred Experience
- Knowledge of Specialty Finance lending.

The base pay range for this position is $71,960.00 - $113,080.00 per year. Compensation may also include annual bonuses and long-term incentives, subject to various metrics and company policy. A candidate’s salary is determined by several factors including travel, relevant work experience or skills and expertise.
