This opportunity is for a Special Education Teacher to support elementary level students in inclusive and self-contained classrooms within a K-12 school setting. The position is located onsite in Prattville, AL, with the contract running from ASAP through May 22, 2026. The role supports a caseload focused on providing specialized instruction to meet diverse learning needs.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver individualized and group instruction tailored to students with special needs in both self-contained and inclusive settings
- Develop and implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) in collaboration with multidisciplinary teams
- Monitor student progress and adjust instructional strategies accordingly
- Foster an inclusive classroom environment that promotes social and academic growth
- Communicate effectively with parents, caregivers, and school staff regarding student development
- Maintain thorough documentation in compliance with school and legal requirements
Qualifications
- Valid Special Education (SPED) licensure
- Experience working with elementary-aged students within self-contained and inclusion classrooms
- Strong understanding of special education laws, regulations, and instructional techniques
- Ability to collaborate and communicate effectively with a diverse team
