Job Title: Payer Portal Management Operations Associate
Position Summary:
The Payer Portal Management Zone is dedicated to streamlining revenue cycle management activities by delivering scalable, automated, reliable, and secure access to payer portals while reducing the burden of portal management for our customers.
The Payer Portal Management Operations Associate is responsible for configuring payer portals and optimizing the management and maintenance of payer portal login credentials. By effectively leveraging these portals, the role drives increased efficiency and productivity, enhances accuracy while reducing errors, and ultimately supports better outcomes for both athenahealth and our customers.
This role requires a blend of strong solution design skills, technical aptitude, and analytical thinking, with a focus on optimizing products and processes to drive client success and operational efficiency. The Associate should be an excellent communicator, detail-oriented, adept at independently solving business challenges, and comfortable juggling multiple projects with competing demands and stakeholders.
Essential Functions (Duties and Responsibilities):
- Document, design, and optimize processes related to payer portal credential management.
- Set up and configure payer portals to ensure seamless access for revenue cycle management activities.
- Troubleshoot and resolve payer portal access issues efficiently and effectively.
- Collaborate with internal teams and external partners to address and escalate portal access challenges.
- Support project management initiatives aimed at improving customer experience and outcomes.
- Continuously identify opportunities for process improvements and operational efficiencies in payer portal management.
Education & Experience Required:
- Bachelor’s degree or 3-5 years of experience in healthcare revenue cycle management
- Experience solving complex healthcare revenue cycle
- Ability to document and design processes and workflows
- Mastery of Microsoft Office applications, including Outlook, Word, Excel, SharePoint and PowerPoint
Knowledge & Skills Required:
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Excellent communication and collaboration abilities
- Detail-oriented with a focus on accuracy and process adherence
- Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities simultaneously
- Proactive approach to identifying and resolving operational issues
- Experience with project management principles and tools is beneficial
- Proficient in leveraging AthenaGPT and Microsoft Copilot to streamline workflows, automate tasks, and improve decision-making for enhanced productivity
- Knowledgeable and experienced in Atlassian products, including Confluence and Jira
Expected Compensation
$54,000 - $92,000
The base salary range shown reflects the full range for this role from minimum to maximum. At athenahealth, base pay depends on multiple factors, including job-related experience, relevant knowledge and skills, how your qualifications compare to others in similar roles, and geographical market rates. Base pay is only one part of our competitive Total Rewards package - depending on role eligibility, we offer both short and long-term incentives by way of an annual discretionary bonus plan, variable compensation plan, and equity plans.
