A unique opportunity for a Registered Nurse to provide dedicated, one-on-one care to a 1st grade student within an elementary school setting in Boulder, CO. This contract position offers a structured 30-hour work week and extends through the current school year, with potential renewal for extended school year and next school year based on performance.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide skilled nursing care, including mouth suctioning and rare trach suction as needed
- Assist with respiratory treatments such as saline nebulizer and cough assist when required
- Perform routine positioning changes every two hours to ensure comfort and prevent complications
- Manage personal care needs including diaper changes approximately four times daily
- Administer tube feedings for breakfast and lunch, supporting the student during feeding times lasting about one hour each
- Provide hydration via bolus syringe water administration multiple times throughout the day in various positions
Qualifications
- Current, active Registered Nurse (RN) license
- Experience in school nursing or pediatric care preferred
- Ability to work independently in a one-on-one student care setting
- Strong understanding of respiratory care, tube feeding, and positioning protocols
