Three Special Education Teacher positions are available in a K-12 school setting located in Ypsilanti, Michigan. These full-time, contracted roles are set to begin as soon as possible and continue through June 5, 2026. The positions involve working with elementary students across various specialized classrooms, specifically serving students with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) and Communication Impairment (CI).
Responsibilities Include
- Providing individualized and group instruction to students in ASD and CI classrooms
- Managing classroom environments effectively for grades ranging from kindergarten through 5th grade
- Collaborating with school staff and families to develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs)
- Monitoring student progress and adjusting instructional methods accordingly
- Ensuring compliance with state and federal special education regulations
Qualifications
- Current and active Michigan Special Education teaching license with a focus on either Communication Impairment (CI) or Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD)
- Experience working with elementary-aged children in special education settings
- Strong communication and organizational skills
- Ability to design and implement differentiated instructional plans tailored to diverse student needs
