An opportunity is available for a full-time Special Education Teacher specializing in Early Childhood and Cross-Categorical Elementary education. This contract position runs through the current school year and is based in the Hickory, NC area. The role offers a structured 37.5-hour workweek from Monday to Friday, 7:00 AM to 2:30 PM.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct comprehensive assessments and testing to evaluate student needs.
- Develop and implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) tailored to each students requirements.
- Provide instruction aligned with the EC General Curriculum for students with diverse learning needs.
- Manage and support an elementary-level caseload with emphasis on cross-categorical special education services.
Desired Qualifications
- Certification or licensure in Special Education, preferably with EC Special Education and Cross-Categorical endorsements.
- Experience working with elementary-aged students in a special education setting.
- Strong knowledge of individualized assessment techniques and IEP development.
- Effective communication and collaboration skills with students, parents, and teaching teams.
