What You Get To Do
The Resident Safety Training Lead will be responsible for the management, maintenance, and continuous improvement of the OH&S management system in compliance with ISO 45001:2018. This role will coordinate and support all areas and departments of Knapp Inc., in meeting OSHA regulations, ISO 45001:2018 requirements, while also raising awareness of health and safety processes.
The Training Lead will also assist with the implementation of safety management systems at all new and existing Resident Business sites as well as provide training, mentoring, and guidance as applicable. This role will liaise with the global headquarters team to support corporate OHS standards and will audit relevant KUS sites providing feedback to improve transparency, understanding, and management of OHS issues.
Essential Functions and Responsibilities:
Subsidiary Support
- Assist with providing safe and healthy working conditions for the prevention of work-related injury and ill health for all interested parties and persons working at or on behalf of KUS.
- Responsible for ensuring the OH&S management system conforms to the requirements of ISO 45001:2018.
- Responsible for monitoring and controlling performance of the OH&SMS (ISO 45001:2018) as well as systematic reviewing, evaluating, and reporting using key figures that are carried out periodically.
- Ensure engagement reviews and quality assurance procedures take place for all KUS engagements.
- Consult with Safety Compliance Manager, Safety Compliance Team Lead, Manager of IMS, and Team Lead Site Safety Management to assure consistent alignment of all safety topics on polices at KUS.
- Consult and mentor the Safety Coordinator with regards to OH&S system implementation and training at all Resident sites.
- Identify proactive solutions to satisfy needs for KUS and our customers.
- Review OHS deliverables across KUS and collaborate with KAG OHS manager.
- Develop, implement, and maintain sound business practices to ensure OHS is promoted and delivered adequately.
- Develop and implement strategic objectives for OHS practice that are aligned with the initiatives of KAG OHS departments.
- Engage in the development of any KUS OHS software-based support and report tools for OHS management.
Compliance
- Oversee the planning and management of KUS OHS initiatives in all business facets, including, residential services and integrated solutions business compliance systems (e.g., CMMS).
- Assist with senior management’s commitment to fulfill legal requirements and other requirements as related to OH&S topics.
Training & Maintenance
- Responsible for continuous improvement and training to ensure compliance with all legal requirements pertaining to OHS and ISO 45001.
- Provide training programs for all OH&S topics, including actions and process(es) needed to determine, and address risks and opportunities to the extent necessary to carry them out as planned.
- Establish, implement, and maintain processes for consultation and participation of employees at all applicable levels and functions, in the development, planning, implementation, performance evaluation and actions for improvement of the OH&S management system.
Internal Systems
- Responsible for the continual improvement of the OH&S Management System.
- Ensure the integration of the OH&SMS requirements into KUS business systems.
- Maintain and control all documented information pertaining to OHSMS.
Communication
- Ensure KAG is well informed of changes and news-worthy events within the area of OHS-KUS.
- Effectively communicate relevant service-related information to line managers.
- Provide direction in best value services for OHS.
- Regularly meet with all KUS Resident managers to ensure compliance to standards in OHS and ISO 45001, both at a local and a corporate level.
- Continuously demonstrate ability to raise awareness of the health and safety processes to KUS employees and other interested parties.
Technical Expertise
- Technically qualified and competent at delivering an effective OHS management system for KUS in line with KAG leadership and direction.
- Ensure KAG’s worldwide standards are applied across all departments.
Leadership
- Responsible for the OH&S Management System and the OH&S policies, assuring relevance and appropriateness, maintenance of associated documented information in compliance with ISO 45001, and increasing employee awareness of the OH&SMS and all safety topics at Knapp, Inc.
- Participate in the KUS Management Review of the ISO 45001:2018 management system and is responsible for all OHS content.
- Achieve excellence in all areas of business related to OH&S.
- Champion changes and effectively manage the implementation of new ideas.
Teamwork
- Reinforce team approach throughout practice as related to customer projects and internal initiatives.
- Demonstrate commitment to consultation and participation of employees at all levels, and where they exist, workers’ representatives.
- Engage in regular communications with all departments within KUS and on customer sites.
Stakeholder Management
- Communicate effectively with colleagues to identify needs and evaluate alternative business solutions and strategies.
- Continually define ways to increase internal & external knowledge and deepen the understanding of Health and Safety Practices.
- Maintain lasting customer relationships.
- Ensure H&S practices are implemented and deliver OHS solutions to colleagues.
- Provide senior level resolution to OHS issues.
Innovator Development
- Participate in all KUS service contracts and enforce all policies relating to OHS.
- Review management evaluations for consistency.
- Manage the development in OHS of the subsidiary service managers and senior managers.
- Assign tasks to subsidiary management to ensure compliance of Open Item Lists (OIL).
Internal Operation
- Review status reports of subsidiary OHS incidents and address issues as appropriate.
- Provide expertise to internal teams.
- Enforce standard OHS company policies and procedures.
- Highlight and communicate resulting controls arising from accident investigation to all areas of KUS.
What You Have
- OSHA 500 (Construction) and/or OSHA 501 (General Industry). OSHA 30 may be considered if a demonstrable history of successfully working within the OHS environment is provided.
- Must retain ISO 45001 Internal Auditor certification.
- Strong knowledge of OSHA regulations, ANSI standards, and other applicable safety laws.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills with the ability to engage diverse audiences.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and Learning Management Systems.
- Ability to analyze safety data and implement continuous improvement initiatives.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
Working Conditions and Environment:
