Summary
We are seeking a detail-oriented Environmental Monitoring / Microbiology Specialist to support cleanroom operations and microbiological compliance within a medical device manufacturing environment. This role is responsible for reviewing, documenting, and investigating environmental monitoring data, product bioburden and endotoxin results, and supporting manufacturing and supplier changes that may impact microbiological quality.
Responsibilities
- Review and interpret cleanroom monitoring results (non-viable particles, viable air, viable surface, pressure differentials, HEPA velocity)
- Document and investigate cleanroom monitoring results that do not meet specifications
- Document and investigate cleanroom environmental disturbances (e.g., pressure differential excursions)
- Document and investigate product bioburden and endotoxin excursions
- Evaluate Supplier Change Notifications (SCN) for impact to product bioburden, endotoxin, and sterilization
- Write Environmental Disturbance Reports (EDR) for planned changes to the manufacturing environment
- Review routine microbiological and environmental monitoring test results in LIMS
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in a scientific discipline (e.g., Microbiology, Biology, Chemistry, or related field)
- Minimum of 1 year of relevant work experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience
- Working knowledge of medical device manufacturing and cleanroom environments
- Understanding of environmental monitoring, microbiological testing, and GMP requirements
