As a Route Supervisor, you will oversee and support a team of route drivers to ensure the safe, compliant, and efficient transport of Regulated Medical Waste. You will play a critical leadership role in promoting DOT compliance, driver safety, and exceptional customer service. This role requires strong communication, hands-on leadership, and a commitment to operational excellence. You may occasionally run routes (1–2 times per month) and must be knowledgeable in ELD systems and transportation regulations. Key Responsibilities
- Complete routine scheduled preventative maintenance across assigned facilities.
- Supervise and support route drivers to ensure smooth and efficient daily operations.
- Ensure compliance with DOT regulations and all medical waste transportation and treatment laws.
- Monitor and evaluate driver performance, safety practices, and customer service standards.
- Utilize ELD systems (preferably Samsara) to track routes, driver hours, and vehicle performance.
- Conduct regular safety meetings, coaching, and training sessions.
- Drive collection routes in rare situations (1–2 times per month).
- Collaborate with operations and customer service teams to resolve service issues promptly.
- Maintain accurate reports and records related to driver activity, compliance, and incidents.
- Enforce company policies and procedures consistently and fairly.
- Other duties as needed.
Requirements
- High School Diploma/GED preferred.
- Minimum of 2 years of supervisory or management experience, preferably in transportation or logistics.
- Valid DOT Medical Card and Driver’s License required.
- Must pass pre-employment drug screen, background check, and motor vehicle records check.
- Knowledge of DOT regulations and experience with ELD systems (Samsara preferred).
- Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
- Commitment to safety, customer satisfaction, and employee development.
- Ability to exert up to 150 pounds of force occasionally, 60 pounds frequently, and 20 pounds constantly.
- Ability to lift, push, or pull carts weighing up to 300 pounds.
- May require mandatory immunizations and credentialing based on customer requirements.
