Position Summary: The Insurance Package Configuration Operations Analyst plays a critical role in supporting our revenue cycle operations by maintaining and configuring insurance packages in the athenaOne insurance library. You will work within clearly defined workflows and processes to ensure data accuracy, timely task completion, and operational efficiency.
Your contributions help to ensure daily operations are properly prioritized, processes are functioning properly, and exceptions/escalations are accounted for, communicated & resolved in a timely manner, according to department policies, procedures, and work requirements.
Your responsibilities may include analysis and appropriate resolution of work within the expected timeframe, identifying trends through observation and investigation, and escalating opportunities for improvement. You will work as a support resource for your peers and may serve as a mentor and trainer.
Key responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Task Execution and Operational Work Support
- Follow established workflows and standard operating procedures (SOPs) to accurately create, update, and manage insurance package data.
- Complete assigned tasks within expected timelines while maintaining a high level of accuracy and attention to detail.
- Build and maintain expert subject matter knowledge of work area processes to be a resource for internal stakeholders and customers
- Participate in team meetings and contribute to discussions related to workflow challenges or operational improvements.
- Document and update workflow instructions as needed to support team knowledge and efficiency.
- Review and provide issue resolution for customers and stakeholders cases
- Demonstrate agility in dynamically readjusting priorities and reallocating resources in response to unexpected challenges and volume, ensuring the team remains aligned with evolving goals and deadlines.
Analytical Thinking & Problem Solving
- Monitor task queues and flag any inconsistencies or issues to the team and relevant stakeholders
- Demonstrate flexibility & adaptability and implement appropriate solutions to new problems
- Collaborate with team members and cross-functional stakeholders to gain perspective on opportunities for improvement, assist with issue resolution to ensure accurate execution of tasks.
Training & Professional Development
- Participates in training and support for new staff additions within assigned work area
- Actively seek and deliver feedback for development opportunities to build technical and professional skills.
- Support onboarding of peers by sharing knowledge and assisting with training documentation.
Qualifications:
- Strong organizational skills with attention to detail and ability to follow structured processes.
- Basic analytical and problem-solving skills; able to recognize and report irregularities.
- Effective verbal and written communication skills.
- Comfortable working in a data-driven, process-oriented environment.
- Academic experience related to operations, data entry, healthcare, or administrative work.
- Familiarity with healthcare insurance terms or electronic health record (EHR) system
Expected Compensation
$36,000 - $62,000
The base salary range shown reflects the full range for this role from minimum to maximum. At athenahealth, base pay depends on multiple factors, including job-related experience, relevant knowledge and skills, how your qualifications compare to others in similar roles, and geographical market rates. Base pay is only one part of our competitive Total Rewards package - depending on role eligibility, we offer both short and long-term incentives by way of an annual discretionary bonus plan, variable compensation plan, and equity plans.
