As a Floor Lead at Sharps Medical Waste Services, you will oversee the safe, complaints, and efficient operation of the warehouse and transfer station. You will lead a team responsible for the handling, processing, and movement of medical waste, ensuring operational productivity while maintaining the highest standards of safety and regulatory compliance. In this leadership role, you will supervise floor personnel, coordinate daily activities, manage inventory and equipment, and ensure the facility is maintained in tour-ready condition. Key Responsibilities
- Directly supervise warehouse/transfer station personnel to meet safety, quality, and productivity goals.
- Responsible for staging, shipping, and receiving parts, equipment, and supplies.
- Monitor staff performance and operations; recommend improvements to methods, procedures, or personnel as needed.
- Administer company policies and ensure staff compliance with safety and operational standards.
- Conduct monthly safety trainings and manage Lytx systems.
- Oversee transportation of medical waste throughout the facility.
- Maintain inventory control, including stocking, inspecting, and entering products into the inventory system.
- File necessary documentation (freight bills, packing slips, etc.) for audits and inventory reconciliation.
- Manage freight claims for damaged goods.
- Monitor vehicle inspections, coordinate repairs, and schedule rental trucks as needed for the fleet.
- Address customer service issues and support overall warehouse and supply chain management.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- High School Diploma or GED required.
- Six months to one year of warehouse experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Forklift experience preferred.
- Two or more years of customer service experience; previous warehouse or route management experience is a plus.
- Strong leadership, planning, and organizational skills; ability to supervise others effectively.
- Ability to lift and carry up to 75 pounds.
- Excellent interpersonal, communication, and customer service skills.
- Basic computer skills and attention to detail required.
- Flexibility to work days, nights, overtime, and weekends as required.
- Must maintain a valid driver’s license with an excellent driving record.
- Ability to read, write, and interpret safety rules, operating instructions, and procedure manuals.
- Must successfully pass pre-employment drug screen, background check, and motor vehicle record check.
