Support students with significant developmental delays and autism diagnoses in a full-time paraprofessional role within a K-12 school setting. This contract position runs from December 8, 2025, through June 25, 2026, providing an opportunity to make a meaningful impact across multiple classrooms district-wide.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist students aged K21, many of whom are non-verbal or use communication devices
- Provide toileting support and assist with feeding, ambulation, and other activities of daily living, including for a 5-year-old student with multiple disabilities
- Manage behavioral concerns and support elopement prevention strategies
- Apply therapeutic de-escalation techniques following district-provided training
- Collaborate effectively with teachers and specialists to create supportive learning environments
Qualifications & Experience
- Prior experience in high-needs or behavioral settings, especially for classroom aide roles
- Ability to support students with significant developmental and behavioral challenges
- Comfortable working 1:1 with students requiring intensive assistance
- Willingness to complete therapeutic de-escalation training as required
