Brief Description
We are seeking an experienced and dynamic Director of Sales to lead our team of pharmaceutical representatives in the retail sectors, with a focus on managing large wholesaler accounts. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing and implementing strategic sales initiatives, driving revenue growth, and fostering strong relationships with key wholesale partners.
Essential Duties And Responsibilities
- Lead, mentor, and motivate a team of pharmaceutical representatives to achieve individual and team sales targets.
- Provide guidance and support to ensure the professional development of the sales team.
- Foster a positive and collaborative team culture that emphasizes accountability and results.
- Develop and execute comprehensive sales strategies to achieve revenue and market share objectives.
- Analyze market trends, customer needs, and competitor activities to identify opportunities for growth.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to align sales initiatives with overall company goals.
- Cultivate and nurture relationships with large wholesaler accounts, ensuring effective collaboration and fulfillment of contractual obligations.
- Negotiate pricing agreements, terms, and conditions to maximize profitability and maintain mutually beneficial partnerships.
- Work closely with the sales team to coordinate efforts and ensure seamless communication with wholesaler partners.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with key retail customers, and other relevant stakeholders.
- Collaborate with the marketing team to develop promotional programs and materials that resonate with the target audience.
- Establish key performance indicators (KPIs) for the sales team and regularly assess individual and team performance.
- Prepare and present comprehensive sales reports to senior management, highlighting achievements, challenges, and areas for improvement.
- Conduct ongoing training sessions to enhance product knowledge, sales techniques, and industry trends within the sales team.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in business, Marketing, a related field or experience in area equivalent.
- Proven track record of successful sales leadership in the pharmaceutical or animal health industry, with experience in managing large wholesaler accounts.
- Strong understanding of the veterinary market, including key players, trends, and regulatory considerations.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
- Demonstrated ability to develop and implement effective sales strategies.
- Leadership experience in managing high-performing sales teams.
Travel
Frequent travel is requirement for this position and will consist of local travel during the business day in addition to out-of-the-area and overnight travel. Travel up to 50% should be expected.

Position Type and Expected Hours of Work
This is a full-time position. Typical days and hours of work are Monday through Friday, during day shift hours. Some extended hours or weekends may be required based on business needs.
