We are looking for a Software Engineer to join our Collector Platform team.
The athenaCollector product is a critical part of the athenaOne platform, which helps our medical provider clients manage their business and revenue cycle (RCM), automating claims and billing for well over $200 billion in client revenue.
In Collector Platform, we design and build foundational components, services, and UX frameworks as needed to modernize several core collector workflows, establishing the technical backbone that empowers athenaCollector R&D teams to accelerate innovation. You are a passionate full stack engineer, who can work with a team to collaboratively deliver features from inception to production with scalability and technical evolution. You are an excellent communicator who is capable of quickly picking up the complicated healthcare space. You are a tenacious, but nimble learner, who inspires engineering excellence.
Job Responsibilities
Design and develop code on an agile team of Engineers, a Scrum Master, a Product Owner, and Experience Designer
Collaborate with team members to promote productivity and effectiveness; share business and technical insights with the broader engineering and product organization
Develop knowledge and domain expertise. Take ownership of what you and the team build and coordinate your efforts across the team to ensure efficient development and operations
Typical Qualifications
2+ years of experience as a full-stack software engineer.
Ability to write code that is technically sound, performant, scalable, and readable.
Proficiency and hands-on experience in Java, Spring Boot, RESTful APIs, Docker, Cloud Engineering (AWS, Kubernetes), Terraform, or similar technologies.
Proficiency in modern HTML, CSS, JavaScript, TypeScript, and React.js, with hands-on experience in JavaScript/TypeScript build tools (Vite), testing frameworks (jest, vitest, react-testing-library, etc), state management (Flux pattern such as Zustand)
Knowledge of monorepo architecture and server-side rendering frameworks (Next.js, Remix, etc.).
Knowledge of system design and architecture patterns (Event-Driven, Hexagonal, etc.) for microservices and distributed systems.
Experience working in an Agile environment at an enterprise level.
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent.
Expected Compensation
$96,000 - $162,000
The base salary range shown reflects the full range for this role from minimum to maximum. At athenahealth, base pay depends on multiple factors, including job-related experience, relevant knowledge and skills, how your qualifications compare to others in similar roles, and geographical market rates. Base pay is only one part of our competitive Total Rewards package - depending on role eligibility, we offer both short and long-term incentives by way of an annual discretionary bonus plan, variable compensation plan, and equity plans.
