Qualifications And Desired Experience
- Active RN license with at least 2 years of relevant nursing experience; no first-time travelers
- BLS certification required; ACLS certification preferred
- Proficient in telemetry and med-surg nursing skills
- Experience with orthopedic and trauma patients, specializing in pre-operative and post-operative care for surgeries such as total hip, knee, and shoulder replacements and repairs
- Familiarity with using safe patient handling equipment and orthopedic devices including CPM machines, knee immobilizers, and bone foam
- Competency in EPIC electronic health record system
- Knowledge of Rapid Response Team protocols
- Ability to maintain a nurse-to-patient ratio of 1:6 (with potential stretch to 1:7)
Responsibilities
- Deliver high-quality nursing care to elective and trauma orthopedic patients with a focus on safety and infection control
- Manage and monitor telemetry and med-surg patients during night shifts
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to execute individualized care plans
- Administer medications and treatments while complying with facility standards and safety procedures
- Maintain accurate and thorough documentation using EPIC
- Uphold strict adherence to scheduling, punctuality, and attendance policies
Schedule And Hours
- Night shift: 3x12-hour shifts (7:00 PM to 7:00 AM), every other week schedule
- Requires one holiday shift and one holiday evening shift during the period of assignment
