As the
Continuous Improvement Coordinator, you’ll be at the heart of driving transformation and shaping the future of the Packaging Services business unit. Imagine leading the charge in creating a Lean culture, where every idea matters and every process is an opportunity for growth. You’ll energize teams by spearheading impactful projects and dynamic events that boost operational efficiency, elevate product quality, and ensure timely order delivery, all while maintaining strict cGMP compliance and championing waste reduction. Your role will go beyond process optimization, you’ll forge powerful collaborations with internal teams and trusted external partners, leveraging proven Lean and Six Sigma methodologies to uncover root causes and put robust preventative solutions into action.
More About Your Responsibilities
- Lean Leadership & Project Delivery: Champion the Lean manufacturing roadmap, drive cross-functional teams in root cause analysis, and lead improvement projects focused on operational KPIs, safety, quality, and waste reduction.
- Process Optimization: Analyze workflows, implement best practices, and facilitate events like 5S, Kaizen, SMED, and TPM to identify bottlenecks, reduce downtime, and maximize throughput.
- Performance Monitoring: Prepare and analyze production reports, trend analyses, and key metrics to support troubleshooting and drive operational enhancements.
- Equipment & Layout Improvement: Support equipment-specific procedures, optimize space and layout, and drive tooling and equipment upgrades for better efficiency.
- Mentorship & Training: Lead training sessions on Lean principles and continuous improvement tools, coach colleagues on SOPs and standards, and nurture a culture of change and collaboration.
- Stakeholder Engagement: Provide hands-on support during projects, collaborate professionally with teams, and communicate updates to leadership.
- Compliance & Safety: Ensure adherence to Quality Management System, Health & Safety, and Environmental Management System policies.
What You’ll Bring
- Post-secondary diploma in Mechanical or Industrial Engineering, or Bachelor of Engineering Degree.
- 5+ years of experience implementing Continuous Improvement and Lean Manufacturing initiatives in pharmaceutical, automotive, Agri-food, or packaging industries.
- Proficiency in Lean methodologies and Six Sigma principles; hands-on experience with 5S, Kaizen, SMED, DMAIC, VSM, and related tools.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and root cause analysis skills.
- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities and lead projects to completion.
- Excellent communication and mentorship skills for cross-functional collaboration and training.
- Initiative, assertiveness, and a self-starter mindset.
- Solid understanding of MS Office (Word, PowerPoint, Excel).
- Green Belt or Black Belt training is an asset.
- Experience in food or automotive manufacturing is an asset.
