Your journey as a Senior Tax Accountant starts here! You will support the management of VAT, GST, and sales tax compliance while contributing to financial statement reporting and process improvement initiatives. You will be responsible for filing indirect tax returns, maintaining reconciliations, and assisting with audits and registrations across jurisdictions.
What you will be doing:
- Assist with all indirect tax filings, analysis, and process improvement initiatives, including monthly and quarterly VAT/GST/Sales tax returns
- Maintain sales tax payable account reconciliations and process monthly journal entries
- Evaluate indirect tax reclaim and refund opportunities and assist with VAT/GST/Sales and use tax registrations
- Review monthly tax-exemption certificate submissions and support customer billing projects related to sales and VAT taxes
- Respond to tax notices, assist with indirect tax audits, and manage payment processing across jurisdictions
- Monitor legislative developments in indirect tax and analyze their impact on the company
- Work independently with minimal supervision while prioritizing internal and external deadlines
What you will likely bring:
- At least 4 years of indirect tax experience in public accounting or a multistate corporation, ideally with exposure to the technology sector
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting; MST, CMI in Sales Tax, or CPA a plus
- Knowledge of Avalara is a plus
