A K-12 school in Lovingston, VA is seeking a dedicated Special Education Teacher to support high school students with Individualized Education Programs (IEPs). Responsibilities
- Provide specialized instruction to a caseload of approximately 16-18 high school students with IEPs
- Develop, implement, and monitor individualized education plans in collaboration with staff and families
- Adapt curriculum and teaching methods to meet diverse learning needs
- Maintain accurate records of student progress, assessments, and communication
- Collaborate with colleagues, parents, and therapists to ensure a supportive learning environment
- Participate in meetings and professional development as required
Qualifications
- Active or in-progress Virginia teaching license with Special Education endorsement is REQUIRED
- Experience working with K-12 students with special needs, preferably high school level
- Strong knowledge of special education laws, regulations, and best practices
- Excellent communication and organizational skills
- Ability to engage and motivate students with individualized approaches
Schedule and Location:
- Full-time, 8 hours per day, from 7:45 am to 3:45 pm
- Position located in Lovingston, VA
- Contract duration: Current School Year
