An opportunity to contribute your pharmacy expertise within a multi-site healthcare system is available for a full-time Pharmacist. This role offers two distinct paths: floating between three pharmacies in the system or specializing in an infusion center pharmacy with a focus on oncology medications.
Location: Simi Valley, CA
Type: Contract with the potential for temp-to-hire
Duration: Approximately 3 to 6 months
Schedule
- Full-time hours with 8- and 10-hour shifts depending on location
- Variable shifts including swing shifts
- Every other weekend and holiday coverage required
Responsibilities
- Option 1: Float between pharmacy sites including the main hospital, a secondary hospital, and the infusion center pharmacy
- Option 2: Focus on preparation and management of oncology medications within the infusion center pharmacy
- Ensure accurate dispensing of pharmaceuticals and compliance with hospital policies and regulations
- Collaborate with healthcare professionals to optimize patient care
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of chemotherapy protocols (if in oncology role)
- Support electronic health record systems for accurate medication management
Qualifications / Desired Experience
- Licensed pharmacist with experience in hospital or infusion pharmacy settings
- Experience with Cerner preferred; training available as needed
- PGY1 residency preferred
- Prior chemo/oncology experience highly valued
- Local candidates preferred; flexibility for travel may be considered
