A rewarding opportunity is available for a Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) to serve an elementary school setting in Newark, NJ. This contract role offers the chance to provide specialized speech and language services to a focused group of students, primarily those with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD). The position supports an elementary caseload of 19 students and requires expertise in both pediatric speech therapy and school-based interventions.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide direct speech and language therapy services to students with diverse communication needs, primarily those diagnosed with ASD.
- Develop and implement individualized treatment plans to address the unique goals of each student.
- Collaborate with educators, parents, and support staff to ensure consistency in student progress and intervention strategies.
- Utilize teletherapy approaches as needed to supplement in-person sessions.
- Complete required documentation and progress reports in a timely manner.
- Maintain compliance with relevant speech-language pathology standards and guidelines.
Qualifications
- Certification of Clinical Competence (CCC) in Speech-Language Pathology.
- Experience working in school and healthcare settings, particularly with pediatric populations.
- Ability to conduct effective teletherapy sessions.
- Experience as a Clinical Fellowship Year (CFY) clinician or with supervised support during SLPA roles is a plus.
- Strong knowledge of ASD and strategies for this population.
- Commitment to providing compassionate, evidence-based treatment.
Schedule & Location:
- 2 days per week, Thursdays and Fridays from 8:00 AM to 3:00 PM.
- Elementary school environment located in Newark, New Jersey.
- Contract duration aligns with the school year (CSY).
