Automation Pharmacy Technician 4 (IVC)
The Automation Pharmacy Technician 4 will be responsible for maintaining all unit-dose medications required for daily dispensing from the Omnicell automated IV equipment. The Pharmacy Technician 4 will prepare and maintain the Omnicell IV automated equipment for daily use, perform advanced equipment troubleshooting, maintain optimal medication inventory levels, and review/maintain reports. The Pharmacy Technician 4 will engage in various levels of customer service by identifying and addressing any customer concerns, reporting to the Pharmacy Services Manager.
Responsibilities
- Perform IV automation tasks in an aseptic, error-free manner, consistent with prescribed guidelines.
- Perform IV automation equipment cleaning and maintenance.
- Follow Safe Handling of Hazardous Drugs procedures when handling medications.
- Identify and order medications to ensure medication inventories are at optimal levels.
- Monitor and order consumable supplies required for the operation of the equipment.
- Perform advanced troubleshooting and prescribed maintenance of IV automation equipment; report unresolved equipment issues to the IV HD.
- Maintain a high level of communication with the Pharmacy Services Manager and customers to ensure proactive, solution-oriented problem identification and resolution.
- Maintain high levels of customer satisfaction by aligning the Pharmacy Services Program to provide customer-focused support, emphasizing quality, professionalism, and responsiveness.
- Act as a liaison between OMCL and the customer to assist with customer concerns.
- Comply with IV compounding procedures, policies, and guidelines established by the customer facility.
- Complete negative fingertip and media fill sampling.
- Maintain state and/or national credentialing to meet established guidelines.

Basic Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED.
- Active Pharmacy Technician License/Registration with the Maryland (MD) State Board of Pharmacy.
- Active Nationally Certified Pharmacy Technician Certificate: PTCB/CPhT/EXCPT
- Working knowledge of IV compounding (IVC) (minimum 1 or more years strongly preferred)
- Covid-19 Vaccination
Preferred Qualifications
- Advanced troubleshooting skills with automation devices.
- SME for Pharmacy Services department.
- 2+ years of IV compounding experience.
- Knowledge of safe handling of hazardous medications.
- Proficient in the use of PPE and hand hygiene techniques.
- Working knowledge of sterile environment requirements.
- Working knowledge of pharmacy automation.
Working Conditions
- Location: Able to daily commute to work at this site: 22 S Greene Street, Baltimore, MD 21201
- Shift: 2 openings:
- 1 for Day Shift
- 1 for 2nd/evening shift (starting at 12 pm)

- Capable of standing for several hours at a time.

Base compensation: For the state of Maryland only, the hourly pay range is $26 and up / hour
