This contract position offers a unique maternity leave opportunity to provide specialized speech-language pathology services in a school and home setting. The role involves working with a diverse group of students in grades 7 through 12 as well as delivering targeted instruction to a student with complex medical needs.
Responsibilities Include
- Providing speech-language pathology services for 7-12 grade students within one program, serving approximately 19 related service minutes per week
- Delivering instruction two days a week from 7:00 AM to 2:00 PM, from early January through mid-April
- Conducting two 30-minute speech therapy sessions per week for a 4th grade female student diagnosed with Dravet Syndrome
- Offering these home-based sessions in Carnegie, Pennsylvania, preferably on Thursdays and Fridays during late afternoon hours, or providing virtual services if in-home visits are not feasible
- Collaborating with families and district staff to ensure continuity and effectiveness of therapy
Desired Qualifications And Experience
- State licensure as a Speech Language Pathologist (SLP) with experience in school settings
- Ability to adapt therapy sessions for students with complex medical and developmental needs, including Dravet Syndrome
- Experience providing both in-person and virtual therapy services
- Strong communication skills for family collaboration and interdisciplinary teamwork
Location: Irwin, PA and Carnegie, PA (home-based service)
Duration: Contract position covering maternity leave, approximately January 5 to April 15
