A full-time position is available for a School Psychologist to support a middle school caseload in Newark, NJ. This contract role is designed to cover a leave of absence, running from now through June 30th. The ideal candidate will have experience working in school settings, particularly with middle school students, and possess strong assessment, counseling, and intervention skills.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct psychoeducational evaluations and assessments for middle school students
- Collaborate with teachers, parents, and administrators to develop individualized education plans (IEPs) and behavioral interventions
- Provide counseling and crisis intervention services as needed
- Participate in multidisciplinary team meetings to support student development and success
- Maintain accurate documentation and report findings in compliance with district policies and regulations
Qualifications
- Valid state certification or licensure as a School Psychologist
- Experience working with middle school populations preferred
- Strong knowledge of assessment tools, psychological testing, and intervention strategies
- Ability to work collaboratively with educators, families, and other professionals
- Excellent communication and organizational skills
- Familiarity with student support regulations and legal requirements
