Title: Electromechanical Technician
Department: Packaging & Automation
Location: Aurora, CO
Reports To: Production Supervisor
FLSA Status: Hourly, non – exempt
Pay Range: $28 - $36 per hour
Summary
The Electromechanical Technician will support Production and Engineering in a fast paced, highly technical, and ever-changing environment. The ideal candidate will review customer, production, and engineering orders to determine product specifications and delivery schedules, ensuring efficient departmental planning. As an Electromechanical Technician, you will be responsible for troubleshooting, performing root cause analysis, and making recommendations to the Engineering department to improve overall performance and reliability of equipment. This will include First of a Kind builds, retrofits, change orders, and sustaining engineering efforts.
This role requires strong problem-solving skills, proficiency in Microsoft Office, and familiarity with PLC programming and CAD software. A commitment to safety, quality, and continuous improvement through Lean initiatives is essential.
Essential Duties And Responsibilities
- Reviews customer/production/engineering orders and schedules to ascertain product data such as types, quantities, and specifications of products and scheduled delivery dates to plan department operations.
- Plans production operations and utilizes continuous improvement techniques in establishing priorities and sequences for manufacturing products to achieve on time commitment.
- Prepares operational schedules, test documents and coordinates manufacturing activities to ensure production and testing protocol meets company objectives and expectations.
- Investigate devices and determine requirements, parameters, and practicality for integration.
- Specify and source parts when the established part is no longer available or a new application is required.
- Performs the highest level of complex troubleshooting for automated manufacturing equipment including software, electrical, pneumatic, camera, and/or hydraulic systems.
- Guide the production staff with undocumented processes and initiate documentation improvements and corrections.
- Transferring knowledge of equipment capabilities and operational techniques to operators, engineering, and maintenance.
- Support production/build activities as required by operational demands
- Communicates specific completion date against project schedule.
- Communicates to other stakeholders (software, controls, shipping, etc.) timeline in advance of their required participation.
- Develops and/or revises standard operational and working practices to align with outcome of test findings.
- Participates, and drives Lean initiatives.
- Perform activities in accordance with GMPs and applicable procedures.
- Assure that operational and maintenance procedures and practices reflect safety concerns.
- Maintains good working relationships with team members and other departments.
- Reports technical information in accordance with testing and validation outcome.
- Other duties may be assigned.
- Tools will need to be provided by associate.
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities
- Proficient in interpersonal and communication skills.
- Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting abilities.
- Highly organized with essential organizational skills.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.
- Capable of reading, analyzing, and interpreting general business materials.
- Solid mathematical skills.
- Proficient in reading, analyzing, and interpreting mechanical and electrical drawings.
- Proficient in redlining/modifying mechanical and electrical drawings.
- Familiarity with PLC programming and ladder logic.
- Familiarity with mechanical and electrical CAD software such as SolidWorks or AutoCAD.
EDUCATION And/or EXPERIENCE
- High School diploma or GED and minimum five years of experience in a manufacturing environment; or an equivalent combination of training and experience.
- Associate’s degree in relevant field preferred.
