JOB SUMMARY
As a Senior Compliance Specialist, you will maintain the day-to-day functions of maintaining the company’s compliance program. You will ensure that our operations comply with legal regulatory standards, procedures, and policies. Your duties will include completion of compliance activities, audits, and document creation/drafting. You will contribute to training development on compliance matters, handling complaints, and liaising with internal stakeholders, clients, partners, vendors and government agencies on compliance matters. The position has a heavy focus on payor sponsored programs and compliance such as CMS compliance for health plan and PBM client services and Pharma related compliance for manufacturer sponsored programs; other areas may fall under responsibilities as assigned.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
- Work with internal and external teams to manage and oversee compliance priorities, develop, and enact regulatory compliance strategies working with both internal and external stakeholders
- Participate in applicable assignments related to overall corporate risk assessment and compliance work plan.
- Complete compliance audits assigned to company by clients/customers, work with cross-functional teams to ensure successful submission and on-time completion
- Assist in incident management, response, and investigations
- Maintain expertise relevant areas of assigned compliance responsibilities including applicable requirements, regulations, and laws. Continually monitor changes in industry and company’s business activities that impact compliance risk.
- Maintain monitoring and oversight of downstream vendors as assigned
- Develop and assist with implementation and maintenance of compliance documentation, processes, and practices.
- Assist with conducting process improvement and corrective action plans across the organization as assigned, monitor progress with action plans
- Oversee assigned compliance monitoring systems and functions
- Assist in the development of compliance trainings and corporate compliance programming
Qualifications
KNOWLEDGE & REQUIREMENTS
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to communicate across all levels of an organization, demonstrating professionalism and good judgment at all times
- Must be able to work autonomously (with minimal direction) while also being part of an integrated team
- Must be able to manage competing demands and multiple priorities, while maintaining a strong attention to detail
- Technical proficiency related to PC and basic office software
- Travel Requirements: Domestic and/or International, up to 10%
Education & Experience Requirement
- Minimum years of work experience: 5 years in in healthcare industry and at least 3 years experience as a regulatory compliance specialist or similar
- Minimum level of education or education/experience: Bachelors or equivalent work experience in related field
