We are looking for a self-motivated Mechanical Engineer with strong interpersonal skills, who is seeking career growth and the opportunity to work in a dynamic team environment.
In this exciting role, you will analyze, develop, design and maintain software for Zebra's innovative bar-code scanners, scan engines, RFID readers and interactive kiosks, and solutions that meet customer’s data capture, asset intelligence and automation needs.
You will work with senior engineers to develop, validate, and test products and user documentation.
Must be able to commute to Holtsville, NY office.

Responsibilities:
- Designs, develops, and tests on a variety of mechanical assignments that constitute a portion of a larger project.
- Develops and tests documentation which describes the specific mechanical functionality.
- Participates and provides input in design reviews.
- Runs tests designed by more experienced engineers.
- Reviews test results and performs root cause analyses to identify problems.
- Communicates requirements with vendors and suppliers through 3D CAD and 2D drawings. Documents clear functional specification of the assembly for manufacturing process and fixture development.
- Provides recommendations and implements solutions to complex issues. Insures compliance with quality process and standards.
- Makes changes to or upgrades existing mechanical designs. Enhances and improves existing technologies to apply to new solutions.
- Makes and implements recommendations to immediate team to enhance performance and improve productivity.
- Seeks out new tools to analyze and solve problems.
- Receives general instructions on routine work, new projects or assignments.
- Builds productive working relationships internally and externally.
- Exercises judgment within defined procedures and practices to determine appropriate action.
- Primary intra-organizational with occasional inter-organizational and external customer contacts on routine matters.
Qualifications:
Minimum Qualifications:
- 4 year BS degree in Mechanical Engineering from an accredited institution in the U.S. or comparable foreign university.
- Minimum 2+ years' experience of product design using a CAD tool.
- Minimum 2+ years' experience in injection molded plastic, die cast, and sheet metal part/assembly design.
- Minimum 2+ year's DFA/DFM experience applied to volume production products.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Product design experience in handheld/portable industrial or consumer electronic products strongly preferred.
- Knowledge of ProE/Creo package preferred.
- Experience working with ODM, JDM preferred.
- Ability to work independently and collaborate within a team environment.
- Excellent communication skills with demonstrated leadership ability.
- Demonstrated ability to take initiative.

Salary: USD 75100.00 - USD 112700.00 Yearly
Salary offered will vary depending on your location, job-related skills, knowledge, and experience.
