How will you make an impact?
The Waste, Water, and Productivity Specialist will be part of the Global Sustainability team focused on our global effort to make the world healthier, cleaner, and safer by improving practices in our operations, products, and supply chain. This position reports to the Sustainability Program Director and will focus on working across the company to support the strategic execution of our waste and water commitments and optimize reporting and efficiency savings across our operations.
What will you do?
Support execution of the Company’s zero waste and water assessment programs
Lead day-to-day engagement of sites and third parties to achieve zero waste certifications
Oversee third party assessments for water use
Support waste and water data collection and reporting program
Support development and implementation of internal and customer-facing zero waste solutions
Maintain scalable processes to optimally report out on program implementation, including visual dashboards
Communicate and educate internal colleagues on zero waste and our company approach
Stay on top of innovations within the waste solution fields; keep internal partners informed of key waste reduction technological developments
Maintain processes and collaborate with EHS and Procurement to develop, monitor and track an annual portfolio of waste-related projects to generate productivity savings
Support development and execution of other Global Sustainability programs and initiatives as appropriate
Technical Responsibilities
Gives updates to overall project plans, tracking key achievements, cost savings, and timelines
Detects, calls out, and facilitates issue resolution and/or appropriate partner concern and address program risk
Finds opportunities to drive continuous improvement
Supports data analysis to drive action against objectives
Proficiency in PowerPoint, Smartsheet, and Excel preferred
How will you get here?
Bachelors degree required. Engineering, Business, Analytics, or Environmental Sciences preferred
A minimum of 3 years of relevant work experience including hazardous waste regulations and project management
Background in EHS, waste management, life science, pharma, and/or manufacturing preferred
Shown passion for corporate environmental sustainability
Well-developed analytical, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills
Excellent interpersonal skills with an ability to tailor data-heavy messages to specific audiences
Proven experience in a role requiring high-attention to detail, data analysis, and organization skills in a fast-paced environment
Demonstrated ability to deliver assigned projects, with exemplary capability to follow-up and follow-through
Ability to work independently, within a team, and across teams
