The summer Packaging Engineer internship is designed to give hands-on exposure to day-to-day operations and assist with projects and research that provide opportunity to support the growth of the organization and add positive impact. The Packaging Engineer Intern duties may include:
Create innovative packaging designs that meet product requirements, ensuring functionality, cost-effectiveness, and environmental sustainability.
Conduct tests to ensure packaging can withstand various conditions such as transportation, storage, and temperature changes. Analyze test results to improve packaging designs.
Work closely with product development, manufacturing, and marketing teams to understand packaging needs and ensure alignment with company standards.
Research and select appropriate materials for packaging based on durability, cost, and environmental impact.
Ensure all packaging designs comply with industry standards and regulations.
Maintain detailed records of packaging designs, tests, and improvements. Prepare reports and presentations for management review.
Stay up to date with the latest packaging trends and technologies. Incorporate new ideas to enhance packaging solutions.
Qualifications
Must be in pursuit of a bachelor’s degree in engineering, materials science, physics, or another related field. Ideally targeting graduation 2026.
GPA of 3.5 or above
Possess strong leadership, data analytics, organizational, interpersonal, and written and oral communication skills.
Must be a critical thinker and problem solver.
Self-directed, results-oriented and customer focused.
Strong computer skills and proficiency in Microsoft Office suite (Outlook, Excel etc.).
Prefer 3D CAD or ERP experience – but not essential.
Demonstrate excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Ability to work as part of a team, and independently.
