As Baxter’s Senior Director IT, Global Cybersecurity Operations you will lead multiple teams responsible for maintaining Baxter Cybersecurity Operations. You will drive defense strategies across incident management, insider threat, and cyber tools teams, to ensure 24x7 monitoring, incident response, and threat-resilience of our organization's identities, digital assets, infrastructure, products (device and applications), manufacturing plants and sensitive data.
You will work across multiple technologies and groups within Cybersecurity, IT, R&D, corporate and business functions and external partners. Your experience will reflect a blend of technical expertise, operations experience, leadership capabilities, executive presence, experience managing external partners and a track record of managing high-performing teams in a visible, fast-paced environment.
What You’ll Be Doing:
Leadership and Strategy:
Direction 24X7 cybersecurity operations teams- Incident Response, Insider Threat and Tools Engineering teams- to continually improve processes, protocols, and systems for detecting, responding to, and mitigating cyber threats.
Align cyber strategy with Organizational needs, regulatory requirements, business objectives, risk management, and compliance.
Reporting & Metrics:
Incident Response and Cyber crisis management
As the technical leader of the Cyber crisis management team, ensuring effective communications, timely and coordinated response during Enterprise, Product or third-party cyber incidents or breaches minimizing damage and recovery time.
Insider Threat (includes Data Exfiltration protection and Forensics):
Oversee the organization's data protection strategy to proactively secure against the exfiltration of our most sensitive data and maintain compliance with industry standards and regulations (e.g., GDPR, CCPA).
Cyber Tools Engineering:
Ensure the organization has the necessary tools to monitor, detect, and respond to cybersecurity threats in real-time. Influence the necessary defense strategies that continually fortify Baxter’s cyber defenses.
Work closely with the Cyber Architecture to ensure the cybersecurity infrastructure is scalable, reliable, and adaptive to evolving threats. Harmonize and automate security tools, systems, and platforms for more cohesive and responsive capabilities.
Your Team:
Reporting to Baxter’s Global CISO, as Senior Director IT, Cybersecurity Operations, you will lead a total team of 30 – 35 located in Mexico and India as well as 2 vendors. You will work collaboratively across Baxter’s IT, R&D, corporate and business functions and external partners.
Your Location:
The role is located at our global corporate headquarters in the greater Chicago, IL area northern suburb of Deerfield. Relocation will be considered. What You’ll Bring:
Bachelor’s degree in information technology, Cybersecurity, Computer Science, or a related field is required.
Experienced in regulatory compliance (e.g., GDPR, CCPA, HIPAA) and industry standards (e.g., NIST, ISO 27001).
Exceptional leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills with a history of managing large, diverse teams.

We understand compensation is an important factor as you consider the next step in your career. At Baxter, we are committed to equitable pay for all our employees, and we strive to be more transparent with our pay practices. The estimated base salary for this position is $208,000 - $286,000 annually. The estimated range is meant to reflect an anticipated salary range for the position. We may pay more or less than the anticipated range based upon market data and other factors, all of which are subject to change. Individual pay is based upon location, skills and expertise, experience, and other relevant factors. This position may also be eligible for discretionary bonuses, and/or long-term incentive.
