Position: Business Intelligence Engineer

Primary Function
This role is responsible for data aggregation, data quality, reporting and trending to understand program performance and pharmacy performance. The candidate must demonstrate the ability to query and analyze data and assist end users with understanding and visualizing data. Accomplishes reporting requirements by translating business needs into technical capabilities.
Job Scope And Major Responsibilities
- Translate business needs into technical requirements for the purpose of analyzing and visualizing data.
- Write SQL queries and build reports that pull accurate data from various databases for reporting purposes.
- Design and develop interactive dashboards and reports using Power BI.
- Analyze data, identify trends, implement optimizations on a day to day basis, build dashboards and deliver timely reports to support analyses
- Evaluate data and report findings for accuracy, completeness, scope; ability to provide reasoning for data variations or anomalies
- Support pharmaceutical manufacturer client on data needs and insights
- Responsibility for data aggregation from different data sources for report generation
- Identify, investigate, and resolve data anomalies using SQL or other statistical analysis software
- Monitor and process daily reporting and trending needs for various programs
- Ensure that Asembia’s data reports meet program requirements and are delivered in a timely manner by making necessary changes to improve data accuracy
- Successful collaboration with other Asembia team members to attain a common goal.
- Develops reporting solutions by studying information needs; conferring with users; studying systems flow, data usage, and work processes; investigating problem areas; following the software development lifecycle.
- Compliance with the provisions of the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act of 1996 and its implementing regulations, as amended (“HIPAA”)
Performance Criteria
This role is evaluated by the accuracy and effectiveness of relevant reporting as well as timely communication with customers and internal teams. Achieving performance targets for individual programs is critical for assessing this role’s performance.
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree required. B.A./B.S. Information Systems or similar field preferred.
- Minimum 2 years of experience working with pharmaceutical data in a team-driven environment
- Advanced Excel skills (building pivot tables & pivot charts, writing formulas, etc.)
- Advanced skills in PowerBI, building dashboards and drill through reports.
- Proven track record with taking ownership of data investigations and seeing them through to resolution, preferably using SQL Management Studio
- The candidate must have client-facing experience and be able to articulate themselves clearly and concisely in their verbal and written communications
- Excellent presentation and collaboration skills
- Solid understanding and hands on experience with Microsoft SQL tables, views, stored procedures and ad-hoc queries.
