Overview
LOCATION: Evansville
FLSA STATUS: Salary Non-Exempt
PURPOSE: To coordinate the flow of artwork between the customer and/or art agencies and prepare it to print in Berry departments and ensure customer specifications are being met.
Responsibilities
- Able to organize, coordinate, and direct projects, strong ability to multi-task and to learn new systems
- Enter jobs into tracking databases as required by the print technology or specific job
- Attention to detail is greatly needed due to data entry requirements. Ability to relay clear direction and special instructions for projects and follow up to insure timely completion of projects
- Work closely with Customer, Design Agencies, Sales and Customer Service to gather all data for processing/separating art to prepare it to print
- Communicate clearly and effectively with C.S. Dept. and Printing on customer requirements
- Quoting artwork charges to customers and insuring quotations are signed and approved by customers before jobs proceed to Imaging/Platemaking. Initiate and follow through with final billing to customer and completedand in a timely manner
- Communicate artwork approval dates and details on graphics to Sales, Customer Service, and Scheduling
- Communicate graphic concerns to the Creative Services Specialist and artist
- Check open orders and No Loc reports for all plants including EVV to determine timing of art and plates.
- Monitor daily Hot Lists, deadlines, and reschedule if necessary, to accommodate printing schedules.
- Communicate to plant schedulers of any issues with meeting deadlines.
- Communicate project status and timelines to aid Platemaking and Scheduling priorities
- Offer suggestions to improve workflow, efficiency, and cost-saving measures on regular basis
- Pull and send samples as requested
- Willingness and available to travel as needed to customer to discuss large or difficult projects
- Provide updates on important projects & tasks in your weekly report
- Notify outside plants of customer expectations
- Post review of project –discuss with customer/Printing to make enhancements for future runs
- Contribute to meet department and Corporate goals
- Complete mandatory online training classes
- Demonstrate teamwork behaviors
- Perform miscellaneous tasks as needed by department management
Qualifications
- Degree in Graphic Arts and/or Printing Technology or equivalent work experience
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Strong organizational skills with proven ability to complete multiple tasks simultaneously
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office, Photoshop, Illustrator and Acrobat Professional is preferred
- Visual acuity of at least 20/50 for distance (corrected or uncorrected) and a minimal near vision ability to read 10 –12 point font at a distance of 12 –18 inches
- Color vision within normal limits
