Are you a highly skilled and motivated payroll professional looking to make a global impact? embecta is seeking an International Payroll Manager to lead our international payroll operations. In this role, you’ll ensure compliance with local tax laws and regulations, drive the implementation of payroll systems, and play a key role in delivering accurate, timely, and compliant payroll processing for our employees in multiple regions.
Key Responsibilities
Payroll Processing and Management:
Oversee end-to-end payroll processing for multiple countries, ensuring timely and accurate payments.
Manage payroll operations in 30+ countries.
Collaborate with external vendors, tax agencies, and payroll providers for seamless operations.
Handle statutory taxes, special deductions, reconciliations, and prepare payroll journal entries.
Coordinate with HR for payroll preparation and Treasury for payroll funding.
Ensure compliance with local labor laws, tax obligations, and international payroll regulations.
Compliance & Reporting
Stay updated on global payroll legislation and regulations to ensure full compliance.
Prepare and submit payroll-related reports to government agencies as required.
Participate in internal and external payroll audits, ensuring all documentation is accurate and compliant with SOX controls.
Create ad-hoc reports for Finance, Benefits, Stock, and HR teams.
Payroll Vendor And Stakeholder Management
Manage relationships with payroll vendors and tax agencies, ensuring service level agreements (SLAs) are met.
Collaborate cross-functionally with Accounting, HR, Benefits, and other departments to ensure smooth payroll operations.
System And Process Improvement
Identify and implement process improvements and automation initiatives to enhance payroll accuracy and efficiency.
Collaborate on new payroll initiatives such as setting up payroll in new countries or establishing new pension plans.
Evaluate payroll systems to enhance processing capabilities.
Team Leadership And Development
Supervise and manage payroll teams, providing ongoing support, performance evaluations, and training.
Foster a culture of continuous improvement, accuracy, and accountability within the payroll function.
Assist in Year-End activities and other ongoing payroll systems projects.
Key Competencies
Strong knowledge of global payroll processes, including statutory taxes, benefits, and compliance.
Proficiency in Payroll Systems, Excel, and other payroll-related software.
Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with discretion.
Excellent communication skills, with a focus on customer service.
Highly organized with strong time management skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
Proven problem-solving skills with attention to detail and accuracy.
Self-motivated, proactive, and able to work independently or as part of a team.
Education And Experience
Secondary education diploma.
Preferred: B.S./B.A. in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
7+ years of payroll experience, with a minimum of 5 years managing international payroll in a multi-country environment.
Strong experience with payroll systems
Proven ability to manage a team and deliver payroll on time and within compliance
