Position Overview
Job Title: School Psychologist
Location: Waukegan, IL area
Employment Type: Full-Time, Hourly Contract (40 hours per week)
Contract Duration: August 2025 May 2026 (full school year)
Work Schedule: Monday Friday, following the school district calendar
Compensation: $60 - $70 per hour (based on experience)
Key Responsibilities
Conduct comprehensive psychoeducational evaluations to assess students' cognitive, emotional, and behavioral needs.
Collaborate with teachers, parents, and school staff to develop and implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) and 504 Plans.
Provide individual and group counseling to students as needed.
Support Multi-Tiered System of Supports (MTSS) and Response to Intervention (RTI) initiatives.
Consult with educators on best practices for student mental health, behavioral interventions, and crisis prevention.
Conduct Functional Behavior Assessments (FBAs) and assist in developing Behavior Intervention Plans (BIPs).
Ensure compliance with state and federal regulations regarding special education and psychological services.
Qualifications
Masters or Doctoral degree in School Psychology from an accredited program.
Illinois Professional Educator License (PEL) with a School Psychologist Endorsement (Required).
Experience in a school-based setting preferred, but new graduates are encouraged to apply.
Strong skills in assessment, counseling, and collaboration.
