Director, Inorganic Strategy
Omnicell’s goal is to transform the pharmacy delivery model by continuing to build a fully autonomous pharmacy. The autonomous pharmacy will combine robotics & smart devices, software workflows, expert services, and analytics to deliver demonstrable outcomes to customers. Our goal is to improve patient safety, reduce labor cost, reduce drug spend and improve value in the pharmacy supply chain.
As we continue to grow, we need to evaluate new and adjacent markets in the context of our current offerings and long-term vision. This involves defining synergies with our existing products, services, and capabilities. In our pursuit of broadening our presence in both existing and new markets, we will strategically assess potential players for partnerships and acquisitions. By leveraging both M&A strategies and strategic partnerships, we aim to enhance our market position and drive sustainable growth.
This is a highly visible role within Omnicell that will have a significant impact on the company’s growth trajectory and offers frequent exposure to leaders across the company. Critical to success in this role will be strong collaboration and communication skills, executive presence, and strategic intuition.
Responsibilities
- Develop the company's M&A strategy by identifying and evaluating potential acquisition targets that align with our strategic goals, and establish a framework for prioritizing these opportunities
- Formulate and implement ecosystem partnership strategies to enhance our market position and drive growth
- Partner with Market Strategy team to conduct thorough market analysis to identify new and adjacent market opportunities that complement our existing products, services, and capabilities
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams and Corporate Development team to assess potential targets for acquisition and partnership
- Build comprehensive investment cases for potential acquisitions and partnerships, presenting findings and recommendations to senior leadership
- Define parameters of business relationships to ensure alignment with strategic objectives
- Foster strong relationships with key stakeholders, including potential partners/targets, industry experts, and internal teams
- Manage and optimize relationships with partner organizations to ensure that the goals of the collaboration are achieved
Required Knowledge And Skills
- Demonstrated ability to think strategically and create and build frameworks for assessment
- Deep understanding of M&A strategy and ecosystem partnership development, with a proven track record of identifying and evaluating acquisition targets and strategic partners
- Broad strategic and pragmatic experience across the healthcare continuum, with in-depth knowledge of the healthcare market structure including key players, economic drivers, revenue models, funds flow across the system, etc.
- Solid operational and strategic experience, with the ability to connect the dots across functions
- Excellent collaboration and communications skills
- Sound business judgment and analytical skills
- Demonstrated ability to work with individuals in a wide variety of functional areas and seniority levels
Basic Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree
- 10 years of experience in management consulting, strategy & business development, investment banking, private equity/venture capital
- 5 years of experience within healthcare industries
- 3 years evaluating acquisition and partnership opportunities
- Demonstrated ability to execute in a high growth, fast-changing environment
Preferred Qualifications
- MBA
- 3+ years of leading people
Work Conditions
- Remote hub locations: Austin, Dallas/Ft. Worth, Pittsburgh, or Tampa Bay Area
- Travel up to 25%
