Supervise the daily activities of staff pharmacists, pharmacy interns and pharmacy assistants in a variety of areas including order entry, maintenance of patient throughout therapy, purchasing and inventory control. Assist the Manager to ensure compliance with Federal and State regulations and JCAHO, ACHC, and AHCA accreditation standards.
Responsibilities
Participate in the annual review and revision of the Policy and Procedures for the department.
Complete performance evaluations of appropriate staff members. Initiates disciplinary action and makes recommendations for corrective action and improvement of performance
Implement projects as assigned by the Manager.
Oversee and maintain expertise in assigned areas of specific responsibly such as human resource policies and procedures, drug procurement, IV admixture preparation, and drug dispensing systems.
Ensure achievement of productivity standards, and adherence to regulations and standards of performance and accreditation.
Regular staffing of the pharmacy department as business needs evolve.
Completion of payroll for direct reports.
Other duties/responsibilities as assigned
Participate in the education of Pharm.D. students, PGY1 residents, and other pharmacy staff by serving as preceptor and role model as defined by the guidelines and requirements of the Department of Pharmacy
Qualifications
B.S./PharmD degree from an accredited School of Pharmacy
3 years of pharmacy experience
3 years of hospital or home infusion experience preferred
1 year of management experience preferred
