Overview

Maxor National Pharmacy Services is seeking a highly competent, compassionate nationally certified pharmacy technician trainer for the outpatient pharmacy, located within John Peter Smith, JPS Health Systems, Fort Worth, TX.

 

JPS Health Network is a $950 million, tax-supported health care system for Tarrant County in North Texas. Responsibilities

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS (These duties must be performed with or without reasonable accommodation.  This document in no way states or implies that these are the only duties to be performed by the employee occupying this position):

  1. Develops and implements an effective training plan for pharmacy team members.
  2. Creates course content, manuals, or other training material to help facilitate learning.
  3. Revises existing training materials and programs based on new regulations, questionnaires, and feedback from internal/external stakeholders.
  4. Oversees pharmacy team member development, including coaching to ensure desired skill proficiency and process consistency across all pharmacy locations.
  5. Identifies skill or knowledge gaps among pharmacy team members and develops training content in response to identified training needs.
  6. Assesses the impact of training programs by measuring employee understanding of the subject matter.
  7. Evaluates technician abilities by administering pre and post-training assessments.
  8. Schedules training programs and prepares training status reports, assessments, and evaluation tools.
  9. Maintains a high level of professionalism, consistent with company standards in dress and personal appearance.
  10. Collaborates with pharmacy leadership and key players to identify department training needs.
  11. Perform other job-related duties as assigned.
  12. Promptly report any allegations of impropriety to the Compliance Department.
  13. Comply with Maxor’s Ethical Business Conduct policy and Maxor’s Compliance Program.
  14. Remain free from exclusion under the OIG and SAMS Medicare/Medicaid lists.
  15. Complete required training and ensure the departmental staff training is completed as required.
  16. Must be able to cope with the mental and emotional stress of the position.

Qualifications

Education:  

 

High School Diploma/GED Required

 

Current registration through the Texas State Board of Pharmacy

National certification through National Healthcare Association (NHA) or Pharmacy Technician Certification Board (PTCB)

 

Experience:  Minimum of two years of pharmacy technician work experience, with 1 year of supporting team members in the development of their skills and abilities preferred.

 

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Self-motivated with personal integrity and ability to work effectively with other staff.
  • Proficiency in writing process workflows and training documents.
  • Knowledge of customer service principals, medication products and dosage forms, Texas State Board of Pharmacy (TSBP) Rule and Regulations, confidentiality/patient rights, institutional pharmacy practice, pharmacy law, controlled substances, medical terminology and abbreviations, medication dosage forms and routes of administration, pharmacy calculations, interpreting medication orders and prescriptions, repackaging, aseptic technique, sterile compounding, and IV admixture programs, and medication errors.
  • Skills in customer service.
  • Skills in verbal and written communication.
  • Skills in reading physician orders and identifying medications.
  • Ability to: display a positive attitude when interacting with patients and team members, work in a fast-paced and high-stress environment, pass calculation tests, multi-task, prioritize projects, conduct process/quality improvements, and work both independently and as part of a team.
