As the Director of Product Management, you will play a pivotal role in setting the strategic vision for our healthcare technology products. You will understand the competitive landscape, changing customer demands and will ultimately develop, and deliver on, strategies to grow revenue and margin, market share, and customer awareness. You are also responsible for managing the lifecycle of a product portfolio, guiding products through their end-to-end lifecycles.

In addition to leading cross-functional teams and driving product strategy, you will manage the product management department, shape career paths, manage budgets, and collaborate with other departments' directors including engineering, design, sales, and marketing. Your extensive expertise will guide our products to new heights of impact and success.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

  • Strategic Vision: Defines an overarching strategy for a portfolio of products and/or services, including annual and multi-year goals and plans for product differentiation, promotions, launches, and phase-outs. Ensures alignment to business unit commercial strategy and the company’s mission, shaping the trajectory for transformative growth.
  • Team Leadership: Leads product teams, ensuring that product management work is aligned to key objectives, strategies, and timelines. Provides guidance, leadership, and mentorship to teams on complex issues. Evaluates individual performance, fosters a culture of collaboration, career growth, innovation, and high performance.
  • Product Innovation: Analyzes market research, trends, projections, and innovations to formulate concepts for new products and services. Collaborates with Sales and Business Development teams to integrate commercial, customer, and technical perspectives to build business cases for new concepts.
  • Execution and Delivery: Directs plans for innovating and driving market penetration of the product portfolio through coordination among cross functional teams, ensuring alignment across all parties.
  • Product and Market Expansion: Identify and assess new market and product opportunities,
  • leading initiatives to adapt products for diverse segments and drive exponential growth.
  • Sales Support: Aids in responses to RFPs, and sales pitches, coordinates with Development and other functions to validate and describe technical capabilities
  • Financial Accountability: Understand the drivers of product profitability and ensure that products are hitting financial targets including budgeted revenue and margin growth. Work with Finance and other groups to explain financial trends, Sales to align on growth targets and executive leadership on operational costs.
  • Department Management: Manage the budget and financial health of the product management department, ensuring optimal resource allocation.
  • Cross-Department Collaboration: Collaborate closely with other department directors, including engineering, design, sales, and marketing, to drive cohesive and aligned strategies.
  • Competitive Landscape: Define and analyze the competitive landscape, recommending strategies to maintain a competitive edge and exploring potential acquisition targets.
  • Portfolio Management: Oversee a portfolio of related products, ensuring synergies, strategic alignment, and a unified value proposition across the ecosystem.
  • Stakeholder Engagement: Engage with executive leadership, key stakeholders, and industry experts to influence company-wide decisions and shape product roadmaps.
  • Strategic Partnerships: Establish strategic partnerships with industry players, regulatory bodies, and research institutions to position the product as a leader in healthcare technology.
  • Industry Involvement: Attend industry trade shows, conferences, and events as a representative of Outcomes, fostering thought leadership and networking opportunities.
  • Innovation Hub: Champion innovation by spearheading internal initiatives, hackathons, and ideation sessions that fuel the creation of breakthrough solutions.
  • Performance Excellence: Define and monitor advanced performance metrics, employing sophisticated data analysis to drive informed decisions and strategic adjustments.
  • Regulatory Mastery: Ensure compliance with regulatory standards, data security requirements, and industry best practices across the product portfolio

Qualifications

KNOWLEDGE & REQUIREMENTS

  • Proven track record (12+ years) of transformative product management in healthcare technology or related sectors.
  • Deep understanding of pharmacy operations, healthcare workflows, and nuanced industry trends.
  • Proficiency in agile product development methodologies, strategic planning, and executive-level communication.
  • Exceptional leadership, stakeholder management, and team motivation skills with the desire and ability to grow a passionate, high-performing team.
  • Advanced analytical capabilities, adept at synthesizing complex data to drive high-impact decisions with a sense of urgency.
  • Successful history of navigating regulatory compliance and healthcare data security.
  • Track record of launching and managing technology products at scale.
  • Innate strategic thinking, aligning product objectives with broader company vision.
  • Industry expert in the pharmacy domain, well-versed in industry trends and dynamics.
  • Experience collaborating closely with and influencing cross-functional leaders both internally and externally.
  • Strong technical acumen
  • Travel Requirements: Domestic and/or International, up to 25%

Education & Experience Requirements

  • Minimum years of work experience: 10+ years
  • Minimum level of education or education/experience: Bachelors or equivalent work experience in Pharmacy Product Management
