The epocrates team at athenahealth are looking for a Software Engineer to join the Membership and Monetization development team. epocrates is the #1 mobile application used by clinicians to make point-of-care patient decisions, delivered via native iOS and Android apps and web-based experiences. Within the Membership and Monetization group, you will help design, develop and support software to manage the complete epocrates user lifecycle – your team will be responsible for new user onboarding, premium product purchases and upsells, subscription management, enterprise integrations as well as privacy concerns and account deletion.
Job Responsibilities
- Help build the next generation of epocrates
- Write, debug, and deploy code to production; deliver timely fixes
- Collaborate inclusively with a cross-functional Agile team
- Adhere to SDLC and Agile best-practices (e.g. unit & functional tests, code reviews, bug fixes, documentation, daily standups, iterative development & retrospection).
Required Qualifications
- 2+ years of software engineering experience with significant product-focused development
- OR 1+ years of software engineering with a master’s degree in a STEM-related field
- Web application development experience
- Experience in one or more widely used languages (e.g. Java, C#, Python, Javascript)
- Comfort with relational databases/SQL
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related field
- Experience in 3rd party service integration
- Knowledge and/or experience with Agile and Scrum methodologies
- Experience with deployment (CI/CD) pipelines using Jenkins along with git, bitbucket, etc.
- Strong foundation in REST API development and cloud services such as AWS
