Hours Worked: Typically, Monday through Friday, forty-hours per week.

Compensation Range: $20 - $21 an hour (e.g., the job posting is not necessarily reflective of actual compensation that may be earned, and actual compensation is subject to variation due to such factors as locations, education, experience, and skillset).
Position Summary
The Analytical Chemist will provide laboratory support for the client by performing various sample preparation, extraction, and analysis techniques. This role will specialize in the utilization of triple-quadrupole Liquid Chromatography Mass Spectrometry (LC-MS QQQ) instruments following routine analytical methods, and can expect to train on various other analytical instrumentation including GC, and biological kit assays.
Duties And Responsibilities
Perform instrument analysis to measure analytes from a variety of sample types, utilizing LC-MS QQQ, HPLC, and GC-FID
Utilization of biological kits, magbead technology, chemiluminescence, fluorescence, and absorbance readers
Perform serial dilutions to create standards and quality control samples following a written method
Prepare samples for analysis, including extractions from human source material such as hair and skin, via a written protocol
Run validated methods and maintain instrumentation
Quantitate and interpret chromatographic data
Prepare samples for NMR analysis per written protocol
Document experiments and generate data reports via ELN (electronic lab notebook)
Follow the guidelines set forth with clients and in the Bureau Veritas Consumer Products Services, Inc Quality, Health, Safety, Security and Environmental policies and procedures.
Comply with clients and Bureau Veritas Consumer Products Services, Inc management systems in accordance with appropriate regulatory agencies.
Follows the guidelines set forth in by clients and the Bureau Veritas Consumer Products Services, Inc Quality Manual and Safety / Chemical Hygiene Plan.
Adhere to the requirements of the company and client Quality System.

Skills & Proficiencies
Liquid Chromatography Mass Spectrometry (or related instrumentation) experience
Precision laboratory skills needed, including micro-pipetting, balance use, creation of serial dilutions, etc.
Must have strong attention to detail and the ability to learn quickly
Must have good customer service skills- job is client facing and performed in client laboratory
Must be proficient in basic programs such as Microsoft Word and Excel
Experience with keeping a laboratory notebook
Written and verbal communication skills including the ability to communicate effectively in a group setting, with colleagues and clients
Organizational and time management skills
Ability to perform multiple tasks
Ability to organize and prioritize workload to meet or exceed deadlines

Education And Experience
Degree requirement: Bachelor's Degree in chemistry or closely related field
Minimum of 6 months experience with LC-MS, HPLC, GC or similar instrumentation
An equivalent combination of education and experience may be accepted in lieu of above.
